Cloves
Cloves are the aromatic dried flower buds of the clove tree, Syzygium aromaticum. They grow in tropical climates. The clove tree is a medium-sized symmetrically shaped tree with smooth grey bark. Fully grown trees are usually 15 – 20m tall. Cloves have a distinctive sweet, warming, and slightly medicinal flavor that makes them a popular spice in many cuisines around the world.

Culinary Uses
With their intensely pungent, slightly bitter flavor, cloves are versatile spices used worldwide in cuisines, baked goods, preserved foods, and festive recipes. Valued for their antioxidant and antiseptic properties, cloves also have traditional medicinal uses, and their extracts are found in perfumes, aromatherapy, and natural repellents.
